Is it possible to have a delayed reaction if benedryl and
dexamethasone are administered prior to a vaccination? I have had a
ferret experience an anaphylactic reaction after a vaccine and am
always searching for more information. I have chosen to have annual
titer tests conducted and vaccinate when the titer results warrant
it. However, if and when the time does arrive, I fear that
administering Benadryl and dex. might just delay a serious reaction.
I have been leaning toward going without premedicating, because if a
reaction does occur, I would rather be in a place where my ferret can
be helped. Any thoughts??

Thanks in advance,
Suzanna
