Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Everyone is confused!

Hi-not to scare you but we had one of our babies go through
the same symptoms that your baby is going through and come to
find out she had lymphoma. They had to do an ultra-sound on
her to find this out so if at all possible have that done
first and immediately before it is too late-we had to put Mona
to sleep 2 months ago because it had pretty much taken over
her little heart and little chance she would make it with
medicine. Hope this isn't it and we all will pray for your
little one!!! Hugs and Kisses, Kristen, Danny and Kozmo,
Lola, Chachi, Annie, Pheobe, Ollie and Rose and Mona from
Heaven!!!!

I have a 6 month old Marshall Farms ferret. (female) I just
got home
from the vet yesterday and they told me some confusing
things. Her
urinalysis showed that she had very high gluclose levels in
her
urine, but her blood work showed regular levels of gluclose
in her
blood. She also had lots of ketones (sp?) in her urine,
which I
guess is a sign of liver disease, but she is eating like a
pig...which contradicts the liver disease theory. She is
VERY
lethargic and seems to not use her back legs very much. She
CAN use
them because she occasionally does, but they seem very weak.
She is
now on Baytril via 1/4 pill 2X day. Any other suggestions
to what
may be happening to my poor baby girl? All this illness
seemed to
have just hit her within a 12 hour period. She was very
active one
night....and the next morning, this. Anywho...any help or
advice I
could get would be very helpful. Thank you.
P.S. Our other ferret wants his playmate back!
