I've used soy milk instead of ensure or sustical in
soup for taste and for creaminess, when using gritty
stuff (like Nupro Pet Powder or Wysong's canned
chicken). It's low sugar and lasts a long time in the
fridge, and it is much, much cheaper than Ensure and
Sustical, which also have much more sugar in them than
soy milk. It seems to make the stool a bit loose, but
that's all. I don't know if there would be any other
effects.
