Subject: brewer's yeast-good or bad

First, I have no experience with pregnant or nursing ferrets, nor do I have
any special training or knowledge in the area of nutrition.

Brewer's yeast does have significant nutritional value. It is high in
protein (55-60% by weight according to the container my hubby has) and B
vitamins. It is rich in trace minerals (one of which is chromium). I really
have no idea if the amount of chromium is enough to have a significant
effect on blood sugar. But given the propensity ferrets have towards
developing insulinoma, and the fact that sometimes the symptoms can be
subtle and hard to catch, I have decided to not use it.

Personally, I would recommend finding other ways to add B vitamins, protein
and trace minerals to a ferret's diet.

I may be wrong.
