Subject: Re: [Ferret-Health-list] Adrenal Gland Tumor

What anesthetic are you recommending? Just curious.

Patty
p.s. 11 years is great,is that the oldest you have had?

Hello
My name is Felicia and I have had over 17 ferrets over the
last 12 years. Of
my ferrets only the Marshal farm one have had this problem.
I had all but one of them operated on. I didn't do my first
female because
she was 11 years old when she started showing signs. She
died 2 years later.
The rest have all showed no signs of a return of Adrenal
Gland.
Your ferret is still young enough that the surrey recovery
rate is good.
If you so chose to go ahead and do this. DO NOT have them
use Isoflurane as
the Anesthetic agent, ferrets do not recover as smoothly
with it.
I am currently going to shoal for Vet Tech. and have spent
the last 13 years
compiling info on the little buggers.
I hope that I have been able to help you a little.
