Subject: Mild distemper reaction

On Sat June 15 Lenny (3yrs old) went in for his annual exam. Last
year, for the first time, he had many problems with reactions and
digestive problems. All resolved. This year he was pretreated at the
vets with benadryl inj .50. His systems are mild in comparison, just
swelling where the shot was given around his arm and chest. This
time the swelling was much less but still apparent. Is there anything
I can do to help the swelling? Also, it is nearly impossible to find
benadryl elixir, which all vets seem to recommend. Is Dimetapp elixir
ok. Active ingredients are: Brompheniramine maleate usp 1mg,
Pseudoephedrine hci usp 15mg (in each 5 ml tsp)inactive ingr include
propylene glycol, saccharin sodium, sodium benzoate, sorbitol.

Thanks
