Subject: ringworm species and genera
I had a private letter from someone who was curious about the species
and genera mentioned for ringworm so I looked this up for all:
Saunders Vet Dictionary says for ringworm that common species are
Trichophyton verrucosum (cattle), T. equinum (horses), T. verrucosum
(sheep and goats), M. nanum (pigs), and 3 species in dogs and cats
Microsporum canis, m. gypseum. and T. mentagraphphytes. It is also
called dermatophytosis.
