Isoflurane works marvelously! I think that perhaps you were thinking
of something else. We have had a lot of surgeries over the years (19
with ferrets in the family, first op about 15 years ago, most ops
with isoflurane) and have so far never lost a ferret during surgery
or in the post-op weeks.
