Ferrets are very steroid resistant, so I believe your vets fears of
the damage are unfounded. 0.25mg is a small dose, but certainly not
too small for some ferrets, as each case is different.

Beasley has been getting pred for over three years now. He's
currently getting 0.9mg twice a day, and that's his highest dose so
far. Beasley did not respond well to Diazoxide, but that's just
him. Some ferrets do quite well with it and some don't.
