Subject: mother killed babies at age of 4 weeks old
Yes it happenend here (in Holland) once last year..
the jill killed and eaten her kittens also at a age of
4 weeks after she scared to death...
It's a normal reaction of the jill trying to save her
kittens..
although she killed them (sometimes they do eat them
also) they don't really remember and keep on searching
for their kittens.. it will take some time (sometimes
a long time) before they got over it...
Sometimes it will help to give them something else to
care for (they will do that to other grown-up ferrets
too although not all ferrets will like their
attention. If that happens the only way is to keep
them apart for some weeks and give them extra
attention.)
