Subject: Post adrenal ferret
We have a ferret in the shelter who is about 5 years old. She came in with
some hair loss and a majorly swollen vulva, so we had adrenal surgery
done. Her left adrenal gland was removed and her right one debulked. This
was on May 1. It has been six weeks since the surgery and her vulva is
still swollen; it is hard and has a discharge. How much longer should we
wait for the swelling to go down? Should we go in again and see what's
going on? She bounced back from her first surgery very quickly, so that
recovery would not be an issue.
