HI Lisa, ( and experts out there)

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Bandit who is five years old had both
adrenals removed a year in a half ago. One was surgically removed the left
and the right was frozen with cryo. Bandit never needed the hormone
replacements which I thought was wonderful at the time- but now I realize
this means he still has adrenal tissue left behind and perhaps it's
malignant....Lately Bandit's been sleeping sooo much and he has hairloss on
his tail and back feet. I really thought this was a seasonal shed because
his coat is changing colors and much lighter for the summer. Now I'm
starting to wonder if the adrenal disease is back??? My vet seems to think he
may have Addison's Disease- and is thinking of checking his cortisol levels,
in order to do so he needs 3 cc's of blood and would have to put Bandit out.
I am uncomfortable with his opinion and was thinking running the Tennesee
Panel would be a better idea. What blood tests did you run to check if the
adrenal was back???
Do you know if this test would also identify Addisons Disease??
