I have been a wildlife rehabber for 10 years and have handled hundreds of
raccoons. I agree with everything Dr. Williams has said. If the rehabber in
question did not have a vet diagnose the problem and it recurs, s/he should.
Raccoons do get coccidia and other parasites (more than I've ever seen in
other animals). It could be something easily diagnosed (stool check) and
treated.
