A blood glucose of 25mg/dl is extemely low. For a ferret that hasn't
had a gradual decrease in glucose levels, giving it time to become
somewhat used to that low level, 25mg/dl would probably send the
ferret into a hypoglycemic seizure at the very least.
I'm not a vet and you should consult your vet on the topic of dosage
for Jilly... but 1.5mg a day is not a terribly large dose. My
reference says up to 2mg per kg, twice a day is the largest effective
dose. I know some who have given more, but each case is different so
one shouldn't judge by what works for someone else.
