Subject: [Ferret-Health-list] Ferret ate bedding and died

You should change vets as a blockage can usually be
surgically removed.

I had 3 ferrets. My youngest got very sick over the
weekend. Final
diagnose (from an xray) was that he ingested something and
had a
blockage. There were no options but to have him put down.
He was
only 3 years old.

I used old bed sheets to line their cage and for them to
cuddle
under. I've noticed holes in them where they/he has eaten
it and has
shown up again in the litter box. I believe that this is
what got
stuck.

My question is, what do you use for bedding? I've tried baby
flannel
sheets, old t-shirts, bed sheets and they eat each of them.

Please help me, they love to cuddle under something, and I'm
so
scared for the other 2.

Thank you.
