Subject: melatonin

I have read a few of the melatonin posts and haven't yet seen this
particular warning about the use of this drug/hormone. Here's
something that I found from a "Melatonin FAQ" at

http://www.melatonin.com/prod/melatonin/melfaq.htm

It's a partial list of who should avoid taking melatonin.

"...people with severe allergies or autoimmune diseases (melatonin
could exacerbate such conditions by stimulating the immune system);
people with immune-system cancers such as lymphoma or leukemia (for
the same reason)..."

I have experienced this myself. When I decided to try melatonin, I
hadn't heard of this side effect. Each time I tried it (I only took
a half dose), the following day I suffered from severe allergy
attacks. After the second time, I gave up and did the research I
should have done prior to taking it! Just something to keep in mind.

Sorry if this has been discussed before,
Suzanna
