As you can see, that is a blast from the past... The full discussion,
including Dr Blooms defense of CIEP is, I beleive, at Bob Church's
site along with a prediction that ADV would pretty much sweep
unchecked through the ferret community in a pattern similar to ECE.
Sad thing is, we don't know if Bob was right or wrong. No one has
counted the corpses along the way, because no one is responsible.
It's not like immunization responses where at least the FDA takes an
interest and the problem is getting the clincs to report them.. No
one takes an interest, It's not killing humans and it's not affecting
the food animal industry and there is no agency in place to be held
accountable for doing the accounting.
Just for the record. The ELISA test Dr Stephon talks about in this
copy from the FML was indeed developed and marketed and it is what is
available at the Avecon website. Avecon does indeed claim it
eliminates false positive and false negative results that may have
been possible with the CIEP testing and they make a really good
argument for that at the website as well.
