Subject: Re: Ferret only eating Meow Mix :P

Well, wouldn't you know, I bought it this weekend in
desperation, and Max has been chowing ever since. Probably
eats every two hours. But the food is CRAP!

Here's the question: How long can Max be on this food before
it does harm? I plan on gradually sneaking in the good stuff
but he's been so picky and so hyper-alert to good food that
it may take a while. Is it okay to have him eat this for a
few months (he still gets duck soup as a supplement, but
half of what he used to)?

Well, years ago there weren't good foods; one of our's lived
into his 8th year on Meow Mix and another into her 9th. (Not
all lived such long lives on it.) If it comes down to not
eating or eating lousy food then lousy food is better.

You might want to also pose your question at

Meanwhile try mixing good food with the lousy stuff and
letting them sit together in a container for a while,,and if
that doesn't work on its own then grind a bit of the Meow Mix
over some good food like putting sugar on bran flakes...
