Subject: Right Adrenal/vena cava surgery
Hi Alicia,
Sorry to hear about your ferret's unsuccessful surgery.
There is a referral surgery center in Austin. Dr Stephanie
Beardsley and her husband Dr Stehen Kerpsack are both
great surgeons. I have talked to him in the past about vena
cava surgery.He recommended removing the tumor with the
vena cava and then to suture the 2 ends of the vena cava back
together. Sounds easy, but it is hard to do. The other place to
consider is Texas A&M. Drs Boothe and Fossum are both great
surgeons and very capable of doing vascular surgery (esp Dr Fossum).
