Subject: Ferret's and Diarrhea?

Hello all,

I just adopted a new ferret this past friday. Her previous owners
had been feeding her wiskas cat food or something like that. We have
begun to switch her over to a Totally ferret/8 in 1 mix, allowing her
to have a little of the cat food mixed in for the moment. She is
somewhere between 2-3 yrs old and has never been taken to a vet. We
will be remedying that asap, but our vet is on vacation. My concern
is that since Saturday night, she has consistantly had diarrhea. Her
behavior is fairlly normal, for being in a new house, and she is
drinking quite a bit, and is eating (picking out her old food first
then settling for the new stuff). I'm a fairly new ferret owner, she
being our second, but I'm used to having any of the animals I bring
home have diarrhea or loose stool, presumably from stress. However,
this seems a little excessive, especially with this past one being
very foammy and noisy. How long before this continued diarrhea
becomes a problem, and we need to take some kind of steps?

Thanks,
J
