I have the same problerm with two of my ferrets. What the little
black dots
are, are lblack heads. They are caused by clogged oil glands on the
tails.
After all they drag those silly little tails through everything.
What I have
found that works and it is fast and easy is a special acne cleaner
containing
benzoyl peroxide, available from your vet. Wash the tail with the
benzoyl
peroxide and let sit for 5-10 minutes. Use a old soft tooth brush
and rub
gently over the tail to loosen the black heads. Rinse very
thoroughly and
repeat in about two weeks.
