Subject: When to do Adrenal Surgery?

Cedes is somewhere between 6 and 7 y.o., by my
best estimations. His previous owner gave what
she thought his age was but he did have another
owner prior to that. Anyway, this has nothing to
do with anything other than the fact that I am
planning adrenal surgery for him and have no
problem with doing it at his age.

Cedes is showing the classic adrenal symptom of a
balding behind. This only became noticeable a
couple of months ago, if that. My question is
when is the time right for surgery. Please keep
in mind that he hasn't been to the vet yet. The
adrenal is my diagnosis. My plan is to take him
on the day I want to do surgery and let Doc see
him and make the determination. If he agrees that
it is adrenal, into surgery he will go.

I don't want to go so soon that Doc won't be able
to figure out which gland it is. I don't want to
wait so long that he starts having prostate
problems. How do I know what it's a good time.
Doc did mention they could do an ultrasound and
that would probably help but I would rather put
that money toward his surgery. Any opinions out
there?

And, for anyone wondering, Cedes is pronounced
like the car (Mercedes). And, no, I didn't name
him.
