For the little one that can't open his mouth very wide you may try wetting
down a bit of kibble with warm water and soak for a few minutes to make it
softer and see if he is able to eat that easier. You'll not want to leave
the moistened food in for more than a few hours and be sure to rinse the
bowl before refilling because wet food can get moldy.

You could also try a soft kibble cat food like tender vittles to see if he
can eat it easier, and/or canned cat food.

My group gets a wide variety of foods including the moist and canned as
well as kibble.
