Subject: Really Need Input

Hi all,
First, I want to say that I do know about the health list and did try
to
subscribe sometime back, but for some reason I don't receive it.
Here is the problem. Louie is 3 yrs. He just had surgery for a
stomach
blockage. This was 3 weeks ago to the day. His symptoms were
throwing up
a clear liquid with partially digested kibble. He would retch and
retch.
It was awful. Dr. Edling found and removed a small foreign foam
object.
Since he was starting adrenal,he had the left removed and the right
de-bulked. All went well until 10 days later on a Sunday. He was
flat, lethargic and had that "dead eye" stare. I rushed him back in
and
he was very nauseaous. I did not see him throw up,but he was
grinding and
chomping. He was given 3 injections and some sub-q. He was O.K.
again
until last Friday, when all the vets in the area who see ferts were on
vacation. He was throwing up the same way as before surgery. I took
him
to a new place, because no one was available anywhere. They did an
xray
and he is not blocked and his surgery site is not growing shut as it
heals.
They told me to give him Laxatone to help the food "slide thru". I
was
not happy with that, but who knows?
He has been O.K. and then here it was again last night. I only see
it at
night when he is in his cage. Dr. Edling is coming back from
vacation,
but I sure would like some ideas! If someone could forward my
message to
Dr. Williams or/and Dr. Murray,I would be so appreciative.
Thanks for any help.
My good thoughts to all the great people on here and their sweeties,
both
here,and at the Bridge.
Thanks!
Regards,
Carol
[P.S.]
I forgot the most important thing, probably. Louie is on 1/4 tablet
of
Pepcid every 12 hrs. He throws up the Pepto and I won't give him
that.
It stresses him too much. I had asked the new vet for Carafate, but
they
wouldn't give me any.
Regards,
Carol
