While I agree that the Avecon tests are very reliable, they are not
always correct. Dr. Murray has posted before about several ferrets
that tested negative with the Avecon test that have been proven to
have ADV. I have had some similar experiences as well with one of
mine. He tested negative twice with the ELISA, even though it has
been proved with other tests that he has ADV, and has since he was a
kit.
Again, no test is 100% reliable. When discrepancies arise, retest.
