GOD LOVE YA!!!! I am also very curious as to the number
of ferrets
w/recurrent adrenal problems. I have always hoped
someone would tackle this
huge task. I can't speak for long term but two of mine
had the left adrenals
removed last June then had the right adrenals done this
June. Two out two
within a year. And both had symptoms at the same time,
both times.
Shedding season. I haven't had ferrets all that long,
nor do I have a house
full, but I volunteer at a shelter and it is sad to see
so many w/recurrent
problems. I'll ask the shelter owner about her own
experiences.

If you're going to tackle this huge task, e-mail me
personally and maybe we
can talk about working on it together. Good luck to
you.

one problem...for some reason i can't see full e-mail
addresses or send an e-mail from the fhl, so would you drop me
a note so i'll have your address? moreferrets@home.com. as
for a large task, i certainly don't consider this endeavor
insurmountable and hopefully it will be valuable someday. my
vet and i still have to work out what to record and how to
record it. right now i'm fishing for others who've done some
tracking to see what their findings are, whilst coming up with
my own. please do ask the shelter you work with - chances are
they might have lots of critters histories to consider. is
their vet doing the cryo surgery and did your boys have cryo
surgery as well? i'll try to get some basic info together so
that perhaps you have an idea what to ask the shelter operator
you work with...doc and i had part one of our conversation
last evening and i have two going in for surgery tomorrow; two
who will become our first cases to track "going forward,"
which will perhaps help us to format an information gathering
process. thx for your input and help - i look forward to
talking with you in the future!
