Subject: Water Consumption?
Curious.
2 sets of ferrets in separate cages.
Cage 1 has a male and female pair. 1 year old and healthy,
from my private breeders. Weights are about 2 (F) and 4 (M)
pounds.
Cage 2 has two females... rescues.... 3-4 years old. Not in
good health but past problems with stomach problems etc.
Weights are about 1.5 pounds each.
The owner has noticed the older pair seem to be going through
about 40% more water per day than the younger pair.
Does anyone have any ideas of why this might be?
