Giving sugar to a ferret with insulinoma is not a good idea. Honey
or Karo syrup should only be used in an emergency to help bring a
ferret out of a hypoglycemic seizure. Ferretone shouldn't be a
problem, though I don't see where it would have any beneficial effect
for insulinoma.

Even though I'm not a fan of surgery just for insulinoma, if you're
going to do it, early is best, not later on.
