Subject: Dr Williams ; Re: Boogers lab work
Maybe you remember we spoke before about Booger's enlarged spleen and
low blood glucose level. I had him to his vet Tuesday for a 6 mo
checkup. We drew blood for CBC, chem panel, bloodglucose and insulin
level. We got the results back today. The chem panel was all normal. The
CBC was good except for elevated hemoglobin and red blood cell count,
which we assume is from the enlarged spleen.
His glucose and insulin level look like this
Insulin 35.8 [5 - 20]
Ratio 63
Blood glucose 87 [80 - 120]
His vet says we should just leave him alone and check his BG and insulin
every 4-6 months. Do you concur or have you other ideas?
