Hi there!
I work at a small animal veterinary clinic and one of our vets
successfully performed a PU (a perineal urethrostomy) on a
ferret a few months ago (this was the second one he's done,
unfortunately the first patient passed away due to other
complications). He was ecstatic, as he knows next to nothing
about ferrets (we have a ferret knowledgeable doctor that
observed). I seem to remember him saying that it was very
similar to the feline PU's that he has performed. I am sure
that he would be willing to speak with your vet about the
