Subject: Flu vaccine

Since ferrets are used in the testing of influenza vaccines (true, or not?)
it seems to me that it would be possible to vaccinate our ferrets against
flu. I have one guy on both pred and lupron (after appropriate surgeries)
who gets the flu every year. I would really like to help him avoid getting
it this year. Any of you vets, have you EVER vaccinated ferrets against flu?
I might be able to obtain a human dose at work this Fall, but need to know
the dose and want some reassurance that it is unlikely to cause harm. My vet
said shed administer the shot for me.
