I find that ultrasound is not all that helpful in diagnosing adrenal
disease.
Honestly, to me it sounds like there may be another problem here,
and if you
are concerned about fungal infections such as ringworm, which
ferrets
definitely will get!, I would consider doing a fungal culture and
possibly
even going ahead and treating for while you wait for the culture
results.

Also, the Tennessee panel (blood test) for adrenal disease is pretty
good at
pointing to whether or not it is adrenal - not perfect, but no test
is.
