This seems crazy!
Is there some commen allergen to ferrets that I have in my house?
if it's'
allergies how could they both have it? usually you don't think
more than 1
could have it to some specific thing...

Perhaps it is something common to both. Although ferrets are
"itchy" by
nature, I'm pretty sure they can develop allergies. I had the same
problem;
switching to "all natural" foods has helped. I guess they had a
problem
w/preservatives. Searching for the cause of an allergy can be quite
tedious,
so I certainly understand your frustration. Other causes....
litter,
carpeting, cigarette smoke, dust, and the others you mentioned.
When mine
(especially the albino) were going through the same thing I wrote to
this
list and received many excellent responses and suggestions. I wish
you all
the best.

As to your 2nd question regarding adrenal disease.... the exact
numbers would
have to come from a vet.
