And, of course, the theory is that they eat much, much less of the
"best" foods because their bodies absorb lots more of it. Therefore,
the difference in cost becomes even less.

I recently tried Superior Choice and TF for Older Ferrets and mixed
them with regular TF and Iams Kitten. I don't think the Superior
Choice is much different from TF and probably not as good. I also
don't care for the thickness/shape of it (don't know why I even care
since I'm not the one eating it<g>). The TF for Older Ferrets
doesn't seem to be greatly reduced in fat and protein to make it
worth adding. So, I am going back to just TF and Iams Kitten. I do
mix in the Iams because TF is only mail-order and I worry about it
not being readily accessible.

And then, Champ was on Hill's K/D because of his kidney problems. I
had TOOOOOO many different foods in my refrigerator! I'm slowly
using the extras and will go back to my original mixture (TF and
Iams).
