I am not sure what ferret foods are available over in Australia.
Here in the US we have 2 ferret foods that I recommend:
Marshall's ferret food and Totally ferret. There are also 2
kitten foods that should be available down under: Iams
and Eukanuba kitten. You do want a food with a higher
protein level (from meat sources) for your ferret.
Instead of feeding just the chicken skin, you can feed
the chicken meat with the skin as a treat (but not as the only
food).
