I'm not a vet, just a longtime ferret owner. My favorite treatment for
rattail is Johnson & Johnson's Clean & Clear Facial Scrub. Wet the tail,
apply some Clean & Clear and scrub it well with a soft tooth brush.
Rinse and scratch out any remaining blackheads with a toothpick. Repeat
daily for a couple of weeks.
