Subject: re: Food Comparisons
Hi,
I just wanted to voice a word of caution on food comparisons.
About 6 years ago I was buying all of my food from a vet
clinic for all of my pets, then I was a bit tight financially.
I still wanted to do what was best for my guys, so did my food
comparisons. I brought the label to the petstore and looked
at all the ingredients and nutrional values of a store
"premium " brand. They were almost identical. One of my cats
ended up in hospital with an urethea blockage within a couple
of months. My vet explained to me that the ingredients may
look the same, but the quality may not be the same. I have
never tried this route again. In the end I found out you can
spend more. I agree that it is good to read labels and know
what the food contains, but do not be too complacent thinking
that you have the best food by what the label says, also go by
recommendations etc.
This is just my point of view.
