Subject: Re: question regarding fasting before surgery

Hi Kim!

We don't fast before surgeries either...this is going on 3 years here
and never had any problems at all. Only time I've seen nasea after
surgery has been due to stomach surgery...which is to be expected. We
haven't lost any ferrets in surgery or due to surgery as of yet
either.

Isoflourane (which so far has been all of them), that my ferrets do
not need to be fasted, as Iso doesn't make them nauseous. I stopped
fasting them about 2 years ago, and thankfully have not had any
problems with vomiting or any other after or side effects.
