Yes, electronics in the room will in general. It's amazing how much
heat many electronic items put out as waste energy.

Have seen people try to use window a/cs with the windows open and
have the motor heat from the a/c would heat the room while it tried
to cool the great outdoors as well as the room. Heat sink...

I think the point folks make about fans is that the degree of cooling
is less than for a creature which has a lot of active sweat glands
because there isn't a strong evaporation factor. Of course, a person
can simulate that by wetting down the ferrets with cool water and
then using the fans on them, after letting them cool in the water.
(Seem to recall that it should not be cold but don't know if I am
correct or why I am correct if I am; do know that Steve once lost
consciousness as a child when put into cold water during a really hot
Montana summer.)
