We just had a presentation made to our office today from a Fort Dodge
representative for Pro Heart. This is only for dogs, they are not even
considering (at this point anyway) testing it on cats due to the decreased
demand. So I doubt that they would have even tried any ferret testing.
It doesn't appear to have any more side effects than Heartgard, but since it
has only been tested for dogs, I don't think I would chance it. Also the
dose for a 2 lb. animal would be extremely small (less than .1cc), although
supposedly you can give up to three times the recommended dose without harm.
Anyway, it's just my opinion, but I'd stick with Heartgard or Revolution
until at least some testing has been done.
