Shirley,

From a human perspective. Demodex is a skin mite, most people have it
on their faces. An over abundance of them can cause red, irritated
skin condition (acne rosacea)from infected, irritated sebaceous
glands but most people have them and never know it and never have a
problem. If we knew half the things that live on our bodies, in our
carpets and beds and drapes... we would itch all the time!

Hyperplasia is just increased cell production in normal tissue or an
overgrowth of normal tissue. I'm assuming the mites blocked the
sebaceous gland (sweat gland) and basicly made a big zit on his
prepuce is a pretty good (if crude) interpretation of the path
report...

Hugs!
