Wow, that is a LOT of pred. Are you sure about that dosage? Perhaps
a decimal point was left off?

I don't know the mg/kg that is normally started at, but my ferret was
placed on 2mg/kg/day dose- and she is tiny- so that was only 1.25mg a
day, but if the ferret in question was 3 or 4 lbs, then the initial 2.5
mg probably was right- up to 4mg/day. Maybe, increasing it because of
lack of response, and it is pretty much the only thing left to try??If
surgery is not an option. Plus 3 years on pred for insulinoma and doing
well all this time!! That has to be something, sorry to say he may be
resistent at this time.
