Subject: Ripped claw
Hi,
I've got a bit of a problem. One of my boys, managed to rip off most of his
claw, by getting it caught in something. It is the shorter thumb-like claw
on the right hind paw.
The problem here is, he didn't rip the claw completely off, nor the blood
vessel in it. I've trimmed off what remained of the claw, but am unsure if
I shoudl do the rest of the vessel down to the toe, or just leave it and see
if the claw grows around it. The toe is a little swollen too. Any
suggestions on bringing it down? The toe doesn't seem to be causing a lot
of discomfort, but he does favor it a little.
I've had a ferret int he past who managed to rip out his claw completely,
blood vessel down to the toe completely, treated him with an antibiotic and
bandaged the paw and all was fine.
Thank you for any feedback,
EvilKarky
