Hello...I am not a vet but I have had 2 foster ferrets to which this
has happen to when they came into my home. There's just seemed to be
fat, swollen, red although with time and keeping an eye on it just in
case infection set in. It does eventually grow back sometimes a lil
weird at first but the two that had it seemed to get by. These 2 had
manage to hit their vessel when they did I guess although theses lil
guys just stuck it through. So if you think it looks infected (puss,
discharge) then I would let the vet have a check but if find there is
no concern that way then just let it heal and grow to be a new and
approved nail:)..Good Luck! Vex
