I always tell people to figure on a good two months before ferrets
start to bounce back from ECE. Of course that can be less if the
ferret is young and healthy at the time of infection or longer if the
ferret is older or has other health issues. Their poop can be
unusual for quite a bit longer and there can be periods in the
distant future where you might see an unusual poop or two.

You might want to talk to your vet about adding Carafate to the
therapy for the stomach pain that's causing him to grind his teeth.
Perhaps an ulcer has developed?

Is it safe to assume he's getting the pred along with food?
