Subject: Re: Saying hello, and Charlie's kidney problem.

Hi,
Charlie is drinking OK at the moment, but I will talk to my vet about
fluids and the injections you mention. We (the vet and I) have agreed
that Charlie should return for another blood test in about a month to
monitor his condition, but in the mean time I will keep an eye on his
eating and general appearence.
Thanks for the advice.

Regards,
Larry

read any reference in any of your posts to fluid therapy. Is your
ferret receiving fluids? Depending on the nature of the problem,
this may help. Also sometimes as the kidney byproducts rise (such as
blood urea nitrogen or BUN) they can cause stomach irritation.
Sometimes drugs like injectable ranitidine (zantac) may help the
ferret feel a little more comfortable and more likely to eat.
