Meghan,
Yes, you can wait. Its no rush. Everything I have heard and read says that
these tumor don't usually turn into cancer. My Snuggles had one on his tail
and I had it removed. The Biopsy showed that it wasn't cancerous.
I just rescued a ferret that someone turned into the vet, to have it put to
sleep because it has insulinoma and Bernie also has a Chordoma growing on his
tail. Not even sure the vet noticed it. Its still small but no doubt its a
Chordoma. These are very common on ferrets. This is the second one I have
seen.
According to all the information I have read thou, its a good ideal to have
them taken off.
It cost me $300.00 to have Snuggles taken off, but then this Vet clinic's
prices are really high. Snuggles has also had to have a Mast Cell Tumor
taken off under his armpit. Some ferrets just seem to get many skin type
tumors. The Mast Cell tumor was also benign.
