I had a ferret on Baytril for about a month to clear up a stubborn foot
inflammation. The Baytril apparently upset her stomach enough that she sometimes
didn't eat well, but we were getting ferretvite into her (to take the taste of
the Baytril out of her mouth and make her hate us less for giving it to her in
the first place).

I started to notice very occasional "tarry" looking poops. I suspect that what I
was seeing was ferretvite coming back out on days when she wasn't eating much
kibble and wasn't even digesting the ferretvite well. Is that a reasonable
assumption?

She's now eating well again and has put on considerable weight and muscle over
the winter. The affected paw seems fine, although the claws are still not
completely normal. I've been following the discussion of Cleo's problems with
interest.
