Subject: meesh: Blackheads on tails: Great Treatment

Hi,
I noticed recently a lot of posts regarding ferrets
with blackheads on tails and how to treat them. Since
I moved to the midwest, all my ferrets (past and
present) started to get bald tails full of blackheads
in the summertime. There was also a brownish/orangish
residue/oil on the skin (not always though).
I found the best thing to get rid of this was Selsun
Blue. You can get the same thing from a doc at a much
higher cost but the stuff works wonders. You can wash
once a day (or twice) - I only did once a day, and in
a week, I would see hair starting to regrow. I only
washed the tail under the sink, got up a good lather
and made sure to rinse WELL (don't want them eating
the stuff).
Just something that worked for me. Hope if helps.

Hugs to all,
