I'm not sure exactly with ferrets but with humans toxicity symptoms are
joint pain, thickening of the long bones, loss of hair and jaundice. With
the liver damage there can be portal hypertension(increase of blood pressure
in the blood circulation that goes directly to the liver from the GI tract,
carrying absorbed nutrient loads after meals.Then there is also ascites(
fluid accumulation in the abdominal cavity) Human livers can store large
amounts of Vit A, but since ferrets are such small creatures it's always
best to be cautious. I hope this can help in some way. KM
